The 2021 ACT Foundation Grant is now calling for applications from African Organisations with life-changing ideas and innovations to improve the continent.

This opportunity is open to Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), community groups/community-based organisations, charitable organisations, faith-based organisation/foundations, and social enterprises working in Africa.

It is for those with solutions that cut across Health, Entrepreneurship, Environment and Leadership, and fit into the above category. So, if this sounds like you, apply.

About ACT Foundation

Aspire Coronation Trust (Act) Foundation is a grant-making nonprofit organisation. It was established in 2016 to support local, national, and regional non-profit organisations working to address challenges and associated vulnerabilities across the African Continent.

ACT Foundation has adopted a responsive approach to grantmaking. By funding focused-interventions, the Foundation works across a broad spectrum of developmental issues clustered within its focus areas (Health, Environment, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership).

Basically, ACT believes that grantmaking is a critical tool in engineering social change, and even more inspired by the long and short term partnerships they make. Its strength lies in the partnerships it creates and sustains through funding for programs and activities that have great potential of altering the downward trajectory of development on the African continent. The mission is to drive sustainable impact across Africa.

  5. Professional Development

ACT Foundation Grant Eligibility Criteria

You are eligible to apply if;

  1. If you are a Nigerian organization applying, the organisation must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission for at least TWO years (24 months).
  2. If you are an organisation within Africa applying; your organisation should be registered with the appropriate legal entity within your respective countries for not less than TWO years (24 months).
  3. You must be legally registered as a nonprofit organisation (GTE/LTD). However, if you are applying as a social enterprise, the Foundation will only fund initiatives that are not for profit.
  4. ACT will not fund any nonprofit whose official bank account name is different from the name of the organisation
  5. You should show governance structure; the details of the board of directors should reflect in the company’s registration documents. If not, please update.
  6. Show evidence of other sources of funding.
  7. Show audited financial report of no longer than two years before the application to receive funds
  8. Organisation must show a track record of past projects and work done within the ACT Foundation focus area of Health, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Environment.
  9. Your proposed projects/programs must have a maximum life cycle of 12 months; i.e. Execution and completion must be within 6 to 12 months.
  10. Your organsiation should have a minimum staff strength of 3 part-time/full time paid Individuals.
  11. The organisation is required to be open to an independent audit of the disbursed grants by the foundation.
  12. Be a non-profit/non-governmental organisation registered under the relevant laws of the country where it is implementing;
  13. Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the project, i.e. not acting as an intermediary;
  14. The implementation of your program/initiative must be within Africa;
  15. Your program must be innovative and impact-driven;
