Corporate Affairs Commission, an arm that sees the smooth registration and issuance of business certificates in Nigeria has announced the implementation of a new technology that will change the face of the situation in line with global best practices and allow customers to print business certificates.

This will give room for customers to print business certificates themselves with the verifiable QR Code from anywhere in the world; and some form of validation of records for companies free of charge.

This statement was made by the Registrar General of the Commission, Alhaji Garba Abubakar in a Dinner held in his honour in Abuja, by the Ahmadu Bello University Alumni, Law Class of 1988.

This new development is coming at a time when Nigerians are eagerly waiting for the Gazette of the CAMA, 2020. According to the information by the RG, as seen on the commission Twitter handle, “the new technology will be deployed as soon as the gazetting is achieved to enable interested Nigerians to register with the much-awaited One-man company, Limited Liability Partnerships, Limited Partnership and many other initiatives captured in the law”

He further revealed that “when the end-to end-technology gets fully deployed, the new technology among other things will allow the Commission dispense certificate with the mandatory requirement that two Directors must sign every document and be substituted with the opportunity for companies to appoint a single Authentication officer mandated to sign transactions on behalf of the company”.

The New Technology For Customers To Print Business Certificates

A.G Abubakar stated that upon the migration from what he called ‘the semi-automated system’ to a fully automated one, some form of validation of records for companies will be introduced free of charge in a bid to fill some gaps in the existing data base.

While thanking the organizers for honoring him, the Registrar General restated his resolve to ensure selfless service to the nation in order to justify the confidence reposed in him by President Muhammadu Buhari.
