Kcee whose birth names are Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo was born on the 18th of April 1979, in Ajegunle, Lagos, Nigeria to late Mr Okonkwo who was a disc jockey (DJ). He hails from Uli, Anambra State, but was raised in Lagos State. He keeps his personal life; relationships, marriage, and investments private.

He started his music career with his close friend, and partner – Precious John. At the beginning of his career, his family opposed his decision to go into music, but that didn’t deter him as he was persistent until he rose to fame.
The duo came to limelight after winning the Star Quest TV reality show. As winners of the show, they earned a four years’ music contract with Kennis Music and a cheque of one million Naira. Their victory indeed served as a major headway for their music career, because during that period, they received numerous awards and recognitions.
