Governor Sanwo-Olu also noted that the center of excellence will make sure they give support to the fish farmers through the Lagos Nucleus Farms scheme. Also, one of their major objectives is to serve as an off-take point for other aquaculture clusters around Lagos State.

Production Centres

There are set out plans in place to launch two other food production centres in Epe and Bagadry, which will help the farming value chain

In addition, it is clear that this will aid in food security, it will also promote agro-tourism in the state through the Lagos State Songhai Project in Badagry and the Agricultural Training Institute, Araga, Epe. There is an urgent need to expand the state’s food production base to meet such a spontaneous increase in demand for food in the future, due to be Covid-19 pandemic.
