The Lightning Lab incubation programme is a 6–12 month programme for startups building sustainable business ventures. If you are a startup, apply for a chance to be part of this beneficial programme.
Incubation Tracks
There are two incubation tracks;
Incubation For Product Market Fit
This track is focused on helping early-stage companies to identify and validate a clear market opportunity and build a solution that addresses this opportunity.
Incubation For Growth And Expansion
This track is focused on helping companies with existing revenue and traction accelerate their growth through sales, investment and global expansion.

Eligibility For The Lightning Lab Incubation Programme
Places in the incubation programme are highly sought after. Each year, they have up to thirty places for startups to grow their businesses. Teams are selected based on a range of criteria, including:
- Having a unique value proposition.
- The potential to scale globally.
- Coachable founders with a team around them.
- Early signs of validation and/or growth.
- Alignment with the programme values.
- Must be based in, or willing to move to Wellington.

Application Process
APPLY
This is a written application where you get to tell them a bit about your venture. This will take approximately 30mins to complete.
REVIEW
They will assess your application and inform you if you qualify for the next stage.
INTERVIEW
If they feel your application is a good fit with their programme, they’ll invite you to pitch to a Lightning Lab panel. This will be a 5min pitch, followed by 15mins of Q&A. They will then make a final decision.
START
Get ready for a year of growth, learning, challenge and fun! During your first two days in the programme, you will be given a full induction, including a meeting with your Lightning Lab incubation coach to work out your objectives and plan out your time in incubation.
