Douglas Jack Agu popularly known as Runtown is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer. He is a renowned musician who began his professional career in 2007, after he released his debut single Runtown. Also, he is known for his diverse musical mixing styles, and has collaborated with several artistes.

Runtown Early Life
Runtown was born on August 19, 1989 in Enugu State, Nigeria. He had his primary education in Lagos. Then, he moved with his mother to Abuja after the death of his father. In 2007, he released his first single, Runtown, produced by Soge. Next, he moved to Lagos with Phyno, and started doing collaborations with artists like J-Martins and Timaya in 2007.
In 2008, Runtown partnered with Phyno, and they formed the Penthauze Music in Lagos. Under the Penthauze record label, he released two songs Party Like its 1980 and Activity Pikin.
Subsequently in 2014, he signed a contract with Eric-Many Entertainment, a record label owned by Prince Okwudili Umenyiora, the CEO of Dilly Motors. Also, Runtown attended a fashion school in New York City to study Fashion Management.
Runtown Personal Life
Runtown is in a relationship with Selena Leath whom he met in 2015. Selena is a model and actress, and has appeared in several musical videos. Together, they have a son, Zamar. He also has a cub (white lion) as a pet.

Ghetto University Album
Runtown released his debut studio album, Ghetto University on November 23, 2015 by the Eric Many Entertainment through MTN Music Plus portal. He was the executive producer with Okwudili Umenyiora. Some of the producers that supported the production are Shizzi, Maleek Berry, TSpize, ElPuto, DJ Maphorisa, Pheelz, Badr Makhlouki, Del B, and J Stunt. Also, Davido, Wizkid, and Uhuru made guest appearances in the album.
Altogether, the album has 17 tracks; the singles include: Gallardo (2014), The Banger (2014), Bend Down Pause (2014), and Walahi (2014). The album generated millions of Naira on the music portal, which made Runtown debut on the list of top 5 most streamed artist.
Gallardo
Runtown released Gallardo as his lead single on January 29, 2014. It was produced by TSpize featuring vocals from Davido, cameo appearances from Patoranking, Skales and Phyno.
The music video was directed in Nigeria by Clarence Peters and uploaded on You tube on March 5, 2014. The video had thousands of views shortly after it was uploaded, and it debuted as number one on MTV Base’s official Naija Top 10 chart.
Also, the album won Best Collaboration of the Year in the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Gallardo was the song that ushered Runtown to stardom.

In June 2018, Runtown launched his record label, Soundgod Music Group. He launched this group after the expiration of his contract with the Eric Many Entertainment Record Label. Soundgod Music group is a 360 degree music and entertainment company that redefines the business of music in Africa.

We Are New Africa (WANA)
Runtown launched a charity Project: We Are New Africa in June 2018. He launched WANA with his business partners – Ugo Mozie and Ifeanyi Nwune. WANA is established to educate, and inspire Africans with creative minds to push beyond their cultural boundaries.
It is an empowerment project that aims to give back to the society by building infrastructure for the less privileged in local communities. It will also provide training schemes and learning tools for students, orphans and the physically challenged.
