A leading commercial bank, Access Bank Plc is calling for application from female entrepreneurs to apply for the Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa 2020. This is the second edition of the biggest business growth program for women.

About Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa
The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton is the first women in business support initiative of its kind in the banking industry. It was launched by Access Bank through its W initiative in 2019 and was done in conjunction with the International Finance Corporation (IFC, a member of the World Bank Group).
In its maiden edition, the initiative provided financial grants worth N9 Million to the top 5 applicants together with a free mini MBA certification for 50 women entrepreneurs in Nigeria. But, this year, the program is being extended to 6 other African countries where Access Bank’s W initiative has its presence. Thereby giving female entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia, Sierra-Leone, Gambia, and Congo the opportunity to participate.

Basically, Access bank has made significant investments aimed at enhancing growth in the Small and Medium-size Enterprise sector. The Bank has been a major advocate for women in business through innovative offerings like; the W Power Loan, a discounted financing at 15% (fifteen percent) interest per annum, for women to grow their business as well as other Business Support Services. So, as part of its promise to provide financial and business skills to female entrepreneurs, it unveiled the Womenprenuer Pitch-ton Programme.
What To Expect In Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa 2020
The programme is designed as a 3-month programme incorporating pitching sessions and 8 weeks of mini-MBA training in collaboration with the IFC. It will provide N9 Million financial grants and a unique capacity building program aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs.
Also, it will provide female-owned businesses across Africa the opportunity to access finance, world-class business training including mentorship. In addition, it will create an enabling environment for female entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.

Eligibility Requirement
Female entrepreneurs from Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Ghana, and Congo who are able to answer the following questions are eligible to apply.
- Are you a woman who owns and runs a business?
- Is your business innovative?
- Do you need grant to expand your business?
- What about some expert training to help grow your business?
A total of five hundred candidates will be selected. They will be required to send in a sixty seconds video pitch which will be screened by a credible panel of business experts.
Then, as part of the graduation requirements, fifty finalists will be selected to pitch their businesses, infusing learning from the mini-MBA. These will stand a chance to win financial grants up to N5 Million.
