About AfriTech XYZ Innovation Prize
AfriTech XYZ is a free to join, equity-free program for pre-seed (bootstrapping) and seed-stage (up to £20k) tech startups based in Africa. The programme is in partnership with Google, F6S, Lagos Innovates, BongoHive, iSpace Foundation, PYPR, Strand Sahara, and Academy London.
This time, the initiative is looking out for Africa’s best early-stage tech innovations, and they are putting their money where their mouth is.
Basically, the program will be in 2 stages and this include;
Stage 1 – AfriTech XYZ wants to know the headline about your organisation. From the provided information, they will select a shortlist to provide more information about your organisation.

Stage 2 – They will ask for more information about your organisation, your team, and your development as a business so far. And, from this information, AfriTech will also shortlist those that will pitch LIVE to a global audience.
Then, the winner will receive £1000 cash, and the finalists will receive $3,000 in Google Cloud Credits and $10,000 in AWS credits including entry into the AfriTech Virtual Accelerator.
Criteria
You are eligible to apply if your business is;
- Up to 5 years active
- Must be incorporated
- Majority of your team schooled in Africa
- Must have at least 1 woman in your senior leadership team
- Must not have received more than £50K investment
- Also, must have a working prototype
- Must have an active customer base
