Winston Starts is dedicated to helping startups all around the globe reach their potential; for this, they have created an accelerator/incubator program called the “Winston Starts Incubator”.
The non-profit organization helps startups become legit businesses; not only that, but it also allows them to scale up their model and reach new heights. They receive applications from all types of companies and businesses in all stages.
WS works with beginner businesses and established conglomerates alike.

Eligibility For The Winston Starts Program
- Applicants must have a scalable business model which can grow into the regional, global or national market.
- Similarly, participants must have a proven and valid business idea.
- Selected applicants or a member from their team need to move to Winston-Salem during the duration of the incubation program.

Application Process
The application has three stages:
1ST INTERVIEW
Within ten days of application, you’ll have an interview with the Director of Winston Starts, Betsy Brown. She will make sure of two things. One that the mentors would well serve your company at Winston Starts. And two that you will add to the community and culture WS want to create in Winston-Salem.
2ND INTERVIEW
Applicants who are selected to advance will sit before the Mentor Advisory Group (MAG). This senior advisory group will conduct a rigorous interview and review of all applicants. They will later vote on whether an applicant is admitted, and if so, into which program (either Basecamp, Ascent, or Summit).
THE VERDICT
You will be notified within ten days if you have been accepted into Winston Starts. Once you are admitted, the onboarding process will start immediately, and you will be paired with a mentor team. If you are not accepted, you won’t be left out in the cold. Instead, you’ll be referred to their partners who are better suited to help you.
