Have you ever been to Computer Village—Lagos’ biggest hub for gadgets and tech products? Even if you haven’t set foot there, you’ve probably heard all sorts of horror stories.

Personally, I’ve heard some shocking ones. Take, for example, someone who bought a phone, checked that everything was in order, watched as it was packed, paid, and left excited—only to get home, try to charge it, and realise it wasn’t working. Curious, he opened the case, to find fufu inside instead of a phone! The device had been switched right under his nose. It sounds funny and even unbelievable but it’s not even the worst of the atrocities done in Computer Village.

I’ve had my fair share of experiences too. I once bought a phone from Computer Village, only to get home and realise the screen was bad. I had to spend a fortune fixing a device I had just purchased! Stories like this have left many people hesitant to shop there, and understandably so.

But what if I told you that not every business in Computer Village is out to scam you? That there are reliable businesses where you can shop with confidence, knowing you’ll get exactly what you paid for?

At Entrepreneurs.ng, we are committed to sharing the stories of trustworthy entrepreneurs across Nigeria. Whether they operate in Computer Village, Ikeja; Oshodi; Aba; or even Katangura, we shine a light on those doing business the right way.

In this article, we spoke with Emeka Iloghalu, the founder of Nuclear Visions Global, a trusted tech retailer in Computer Village.

With that said, let’s get started and hear from the man behind Nuclear Visions Global himself, Emeka Iloghalu.

Take us back to where it all started. How did your journey into entrepreneurship begin?

“I have a strong background in business and a deep passion for commerce. My journey into entrepreneurship began with a desire for financial independence and a keen eye for market opportunities. Before launching Nuclear Visions Global, I was in the automotive sales industry, where I honed my business acumen, negotiation skills, and customer relationship management. Over time, I saw an increasing demand for quality tech products and decided to pivot into retail, focusing on gadgets that drive connectivity, productivity, and innovation.”

We are curious about the name “Nuclear Visions Global.” What’s the story behind it?

“Nuclear Visions Global represents explosive innovation and a far-reaching vision. The name reflects the company’s commitment to providing cutting-edge technology solutions that power individuals and businesses. ‘Nuclear’ signifies energy, impact, and transformation, while ‘Visions’ embodies forward-thinking solutions that shape the future.”

This speaks so much of your vision and passion. So tell us, what was the moment when you knew entrepreneurship was the right path for you?

“Entrepreneurship has always been a part of me. My early experience in sales gave me a firsthand understanding of customer needs, market trends, and the importance of reliability in business. Over time, I realised that beyond selling, I enjoyed solving problems and providing value. This mindset naturally prepared me for entrepreneurship, as I now run a company that is not just transactional but also customer-centric.”

Some say success is all about learning from the best. Has mentorship played a role in your journey?

“Yes, I strongly believe in mentorship. While I have learnt through personal experience, guidance from seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts has been invaluable. Conversations with successful business owners have helped me avoid costly mistakes and given me a clearer perspective on scaling a business sustainably.”

On that note, let’s talk about growth. Would you be open to structured business training programmes?

“Absolutely! Continuous learning is key to business growth. Structured programmes like the Entrepreneurs Success Blueprint provide insights, strategies, and networks that can take a business to the next level. I believe in staying updated with industry best practices and refining my approach to business management.”

We love a value-driven entrepreneur! But let’s get real—running a business is one thing, but standing out is another. What’s unique about Nuclear Visions Global’s structure, culture, or branding that sets it apart?

“Nuclear Visions Global operates with a customer-first philosophy. From product sourcing to sales and after-sales support, we ensure a seamless experience. What sets us apart is our commitment to authenticity—every product is sourced from verified distributors to guarantee quality. Additionally, we leverage strong supplier relationships and efficient logistics to ensure quick and reliable delivery across Nigeria.”

The tech industry is always evolving. How do you stay innovative and adapt to industry changes while remaining true to your business vision?

I stay informed by monitoring tech trends, engaging with suppliers, and listening to customer feedback. Adaptability is key—I ensure we stock the latest devices, explore new sales channels, and continuously refine our service delivery. While trends evolve, the core vision remains unchanged: providing quality tech products and exceptional service.

As they say, nothing good comes easy, and no business journey is smooth sailing. What is a challenge that has tested you the most?

“One major challenge has been navigating the fluctuating exchange rates and their impact on tech product pricing. To mitigate this, I’ve developed a strategy that involves bulk purchasing at favourable rates and diversifying suppliers to ensure price stability for customers. Additionally, I educate my customers on market trends so they can make informed purchasing decisions.”

You sure are an entrepreneur standing on his ten toes, but looking back, is there anything you would do differently?

“Yes, initially, I underestimated the importance of having a solid digital presence. While our physical store in Computer Village is great for walk-ins, I later realised that many potential customers prefer to browse and purchase online. If I could go back, I would have invested in a strong e-commerce platform from day one. The lesson? The digital world is non-negotiable in today’s business world.”

Let’s talk about the people who keep the business running—your customers. Who are they, and what do you do to make their experience with Nuclear Visions Global unforgettable?

“Our customers range from students and professionals to business owners and corporate clients looking for reliable tech products. We ensure an unforgettable experience by maintaining transparency, providing excellent after-sales support, and fostering trust through authenticity. Whether it’s advising them on the best laptop for their needs or offering flexible payment options, we make every purchase a smooth and satisfying process.”

On a lighter note, have you ever had a hilarious customer experience?

“A customer once called me in a panic, convinced their brand-new laptop was faulty because it wouldn’t turn on. After a few troubleshooting questions, I gently asked, ‘Have you pressed the power button?’ Silence. Then laughter. Turns out, they were pressing the keyboard instead of the power button!”

Now, let’s test how Nigerian you are! If Nuclear Visions Global were a Nigerian slang, what would it be?

“It would be ‘No gree for anybody!’ because Nuclear Visions Global is all about resilience, reliability, and setting the standard in the tech retail industry. We ensure our customers get nothing but the best, and we don’t compromise on quality.”

That’s hilarious yet rooted in your business values. Talk to us about life beyond business, how do you manage work-life balance?

“It’s not easy, but I prioritise structure. I set clear work hours, delegate tasks, and use technology to streamline operations. Most importantly, I intentionally carve out time for family and self-care because a burnt-out entrepreneur is a struggling entrepreneur.”

“A burnt-out entrepreneur is a struggling entrepreneur.” Those are words on marble! This leads us to ask—people have a lot of opinions about Nigerian entrepreneurs. What’s one stereotype you would love to change?

“The stereotype that Nigerian entrepreneurs cut corners. Many of us are running businesses with integrity, focusing on quality, and ensuring excellent service. Changing this perception is important because trust is essential for growth, both locally and internationally.”

Wise words, Mr. Emeka Iloghalu! An entrepreneur who has no integrity is no entrepreneur. Paint a picture of the future for us. What’s the big dream for Nuclear Visions Global?

“My vision is for Nuclear Visions Global to become a household name in tech retail, not just in Nigeria but across Africa. I want to create jobs, empower young entrepreneurs, and make cutting-edge technology more accessible. A thriving tech retail ecosystem means more people can connect, learn, and innovate—ultimately contributing to economic growth.”

That is quite a dream, and all of us at Entrepreneurs.ng are rooting for you as you work towards achieving it. Finally, for those still hesitating to take the leap into entrepreneurship, what’s your advice?

“Start where you are, with what you have. Perfection is a myth—take that first step, learn as you go, and keep evolving. Challenges will come, but consistency and resilience will set you apart. Every successful entrepreneur once stood where you are now. Entrepreneurship is a journey, not a destination. While success is the goal, the lessons, growth, and impact you create along the way matter just as much.”

Conclusion

Entrepreneurship is not for the faint-hearted, but stories like Emeka Iloghalu’s prove that success is within reach for those willing to take risks, adapt, and remain resilient. His journey with Nuclear Visions Global is a testament to the power of vision, strategy, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
