Joseph Benjamin was born on November 9, 1976, in Lagos state. He hails from Kogi state. After the completion of his primary and secondary school education in Benue and Lagos State respectively, he attended UNN. At the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), he bagged a Diploma in Computer Literacy.

Joseph made a screen debut at the age of 12 in the ultimate kiddies show, Tales by Moonlight. Beginning from the 80s, the show aired every Sunday on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). In 1995, he debuted in a movie, Crossroads alongside Ramsey Nouah, Sandra Achums, e.t.c. Since then, he has continued to feature in award-winning movies and has never failed in delivering his roles perfectly.
In the movie industry, Benjamin is one of the most sought-after male lead actors. He successfully starred in Rebecca (2016), Isoken (2017), Affairs of the Heart (2017), Stripped (2013), Tango With Me (2010), Mr & Mrs. (2012), Murder at Prime Suites (2013). He has starred in over 40 films.
